Flourish follows 5 characters at a queer dance party and drag club. A seasoned drag queen struggles to disentangle from an unhealthy relationship while a young queer couple stumbles through nonmonogamy. The stories swirl together as the magic of a queer dance party pulls us in and the transformative power of drag allows us to break free. Flourish features a stellar cast of intersectional, queer characters, including poc, trans, non-binary, immigrant, and disabled actors who have worked on Broad City, Empire, High Maintenance, and with Ryan Murphy, Lucy Liu, and Kal Penn. Flourish premiered at Outfest Fusion People of Color Film Festival in Los Angeles (March 2020).

In Flu$h, Roxy, a queer, high femme punk, is caught multi-tasking between a hot date and a hilarious group domination session with a cadre of her fabulous friends. When Roxy allows her date to get in on the action, things go awry, and Roxy must scramble to make sure she and her friends come out on “top.”

Fusing humor and authenticity, first-time filmmaker, Heather María Ács offers an intimate portrayal of queer, underground Brooklyn, beautifully shot by award-winning cinematographer, Autumn Eakin (The Light of the Moon - SXSW Audience Award) and expertly edited by Janis Vogel (She’s Gotta Have It - Netflix). Flu$h features a cast of gorgeous, intersectional queer characters, including poc, trans, non-binary, and fat-identified actors.

Writer/Director Heather María Ács; Starring Heather María Ács, TL Thompson, Morgan Sullivan, Summer Minerva, Christine Davitt, and Jeremy Lawrence; DP Autumn Eakin; Editor Janis Vogel; Produced by Ethan Weinstock, André Azevedo, Megan Hess, and Kit Yan.
